Our Staff

Rev. Marissa Horvath grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she first sensed God's call to ministry through her home church and youth group. She earned a B.A. in Religious Studies from Centenary College and a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Marissa was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2016.

Marissa has served congregations across Louisiana as both an associate and senior pastor, including as a member of the pastoral staff at Rayne Memorial UMC. She is passionate about helping people encounter God's grace through meaningful worship, practical preaching, and authentic community. She loves walking alongside congregations as they discern where God is calling them next and grow together in faith.

Marissa and her husband, Ted, were married at Rayne Memorial UMC in 2020 and have one son, Ethan. As a family, they enjoy traveling, playing board games, and eating delicious food.
